Gamma Protection Products
Dynalon® Labware Gamma protection products are all fabricated with a 3mm thick lead lining. Gamma (g) rays are produced when an unstable isotope such as 125I enters into nuclear decay. This form of electromagnetic radiation is attenuated by lead. The gamma rays' intensity decreases exponentially as the thickness of the lead increases.
The recommended thickness of lead for use with 125I is 0.5mm, Dynalon uses 3mm lead for all of our gamma protection products. Other isotopes shielded by our products include 32P, 51CR, 35S, 33P, 3H and 14C. The enclosed boxes are perfect for short term storage of isotopes and contaminated labware. Dynalon gamma disposal boxes feature a polyethylene liner and a sleek black acrylic exterior.
All gamma protection products are made in our Rochester, NY facility and come with non-skid feet. We stock two different sizes of gamma disposal pipette bins and a desktop bin. Additional sizes and or configurations are available by free quotation.
